Our mission

The Halide Mehmetoglu Initiative strives to improve the educational resources provided to underprivileged youth, focusing on technological resources. HMI endeavors to provide all Kurdish children with equitable access to technological devices so they can all learn the computer and IT skills vital to being a global citizen today. Starting in the Mehmetoglu family’s native Lice, HMI will seek to fulfill its mission by helping build technology classrooms within schools throughout the greater region.

HMI’s vision stems from a profound belief in the power of education and technology to bridge socio-economic divides. By empowering children with the knowledge and tools needed for the socioeconomic background, has the opportunity to succeed and contribute meaningfully to society.
